Im heading to France tomorrow for a week long snowboarding holiday! Gonna be living it up in a fully catered chalet in Sainte Foy. My good friends Seb and Sophie aka Sebophie work there as the chalet’s host and chef! They got a decent website too: www.snowology.com
Time to scare some kiddies on the slopes with my new mask! Took this pic with my new camera and messed about a bit with photoshop. Check it out.
I got a new camera the other week, the Sony NEX-3. Check out some photo’s I took with it:
I recently made a trip to the new Ikea in Dublin last week. I was fed up being stuck in a tiny room with no space for all my stuff, and I have a lot of stuff! I had a look around their website and came across their selection of loft beds. They seemed pretty childlike but after spending some time thinking about them, a loft bed would give me a lot more floorspace.
I finally decided on this one and I’m really happy with it, although it took about 4 hours to put together with my girlfriend. Not to mention losing my temper a few times with the stress of trying to make heads or tails of the instructions.
I also got a few other things too; new shelf, clothes organiser, table for the telly and some hooks to mount my snowboard on the wall. It took a bit of time and a few headaches thinking about the layout of everything but I finally got there! It’s one hell of a pad
Take the tour
I took some photo’s with the fisheye to help make it look a bit bigger, take a look.
I recently put put together 10 panoramas from around New Zealand with Photoshop’s photomerge automation. This is a great tool for putting these shots together if your camera doesn’t have an in built panorama mode. I have a basic digital camera too (FUJIFILM FinePIx Z20fd) so I’m happy to get some impressive amateur panoramic photos from it. Continue reading “New Zealand Scrolling Panoramas”
Hey Everyone! Its been ages since I have updated the blog! Have just been having a great time down here in Queenstown! The weather is very chilly as we’re just getting into the winter season!
A Quick rundown of what I’ve been up to the past 3 or 4 weeks:
- Became housemates with Seb and Sophie
- Joined a covers band of which I am the bass player! Seb is the drummer
- Shopped around for a great deal on a snowboard, boots and bindings
- Became a member of local pub Surreal, member get cheap pints
- Had many a late night in said pub above
- Attempted to buy a car with Trish on several occasions
- Made my first pasta bake – chorizo and veg 🙂
- Found a new love in hot whiskey
- Saw Star Trek and Terminator Salvation in the Cinema
- Went to a fancy dress house party…. I dressed up as a nerd, Trish was a robber and Seb and Sophie were two halves of a sandwich!
- Not even attempted to look for a job
We’re living in a house of 7, well 8 if you include Dorge our cat 🙂 We live about a 10 minute walk away from the centre of town which is cool! Queenstown is a lovely town surrounded by the most amazing landscape. All I have to do is look out my window and I can see the lake and surrounding mountains!
Here’s some photos!
Trish and myself had a fairly relaxed Paddy’s day! We eventually got out of bed after a bit of a mad session with the Pro Dive gang from the night before in The Woolshed. We proceeded to Cairns Central shopping centre where we bought some ingredients for a nice cure; eggs, bacon, 2.5 litres of apple & pear juice and of course some bread 🙂 We went back and cooked em up in the hostel then went to see The Watchmen in order to avoid the hottest part of the day! It was about 33 degrees!
After the cinema we wandered about for a bit and headed over to the public swimming place for a nice refreshing dip. After that we went over to the shop to get some ingredients for dinner and some drink. We decided to cook a nice BBQ and get some form of fruit bubbly called Passion Pop! We met an elderly couple at the public BBQ places and they gave us loads of stuff that we could use for our meal; salt , pepper, tomato sauce, onions, tin foil and a nicely cleaned bbq 🙂 The reason they gave us all the stuff was that it was their last day in Australia and they were heading back to Canada! Pretty sweet, i wasn’t gonna turn down the offer of free condiments and bits and bobs!
We eventually moved on and finished up our bubbly and headed off to find a lively pub for some Paddy’s Day fun. We headed over to an Irish pub called PJ O’Brien’s and it was absolutely hopping mad. Full of ppl with green face paint, shamrock hats and bellies full of drink! The place was so packed that there was a bit of a massive queue out the front so we headed off down to a place called the Rhino Bar where they had pitchers of beer called Tooheys for $10. So we found our watering hole and stayed there for a pint or two 😉 hehe.
On the way back I noticed a pretty big bug running about on the pavement!
